Bear Down Outfitting
Where The Forest and Farmland MeetLicensed as D&J Bear Outfitting
About
Myself David Yablonski and my wife Rachel moved back to Saskatchewan in 2017 to raise our boys on the ranch. We have recently decided to step into the outfitting world and take over the D&J business. The ranch lifestyle offers opportunities that will enrich our boys and develop a work ethic amongst them that they will have through their lifetime. With the addition of Bear Down Outfitting to the ranch, we feel it will foster a sense of responsibility, hard work, and appreciation for the environment.
The Hunt
One of our guides will escort two hunters at a time to your hunting location by ATV. Our hunts generally start around 3:00 pm as you will be in the stand until legal hunting light has diminished, which can be till 10:30 pm. We have stands that are situated for the rifle hunter or archery hunter. Rifle stands are 30-50 yard shot and the archery stands are 10-25 yards max. The majority of the stands are ladder stands which situate you 20’ off the ground. Hunters will be supplied with two-way radios as some locations have poor cellular service. In the event of a wounded animal, a very thorough recovery attempt will be made to retrieve your animal. We believe that our hunting stands are placed accordingly for each hunter and there is no need to be rushed to have accurate placement for a kill shot. With that we have implemented a rule that if blood is drawn your hunt has been completed. We understand that each and every hunt is different so the decision will be made after a recovery attempt.
Remote Camp
Remote camp is set up for hunters who don’t mind the rustic roughness of spending the week away from civilization. Twenty miles off the beaten path situated along an alluring lake, you can get away from the day to day hustle and enjoy pristine nature at its finest. The bear population is very strong as it has only been hunted two weeks per year previously. Fishing the lake early mornings or after you’ve taken a trophy bear is a great way to spend the day while the rest of your hunting party is in the woods, we have boat rentals available on a pay per day basis.
